Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park was established in 2002 and is the ninth national park of Nepal. It is located is in Nepal’s mid-hills on the northern fringe of the Kathmandu Valley. Named after the Shivapuri Peak which is of 2,732m altitude, Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park covers an area of 159km2 in the districts of Kathmandu, Nuwakot, and Shindhapalchowk.
Our hike to Shivapuri Nagarjun NP was starting from the Sundarijal Entry Post. After a long bus ride from Ratnapark we finally made it to Sundarijal. We packed some food and a bottle of water and went to the national park entry point. We were really excited as we were planning to explore the beautiful forest and waterfalls situated in there and capture those moments on our mental as well as digital memory.
We got ourselves two tickets and began our hike. After passing through the entrance, we were first greeted by this beautiful waterfall. This waterfall is inside the Shivapuri Nagarjun NP because of that, you need to purchase a ticket. You can know more about the entry fees from here.
After roaming around the waterfall for quite sometimes, we started to go further into the national park. We were hoping to capture photos of some wild birds as well but we didn’t seem to find any. We then stumbled upon a few mossy trees which looked really fascinating to us.
Our feet kept going more and more into the national park and we kept capturing anything that met our eyes. These are some photos that we managed to capture.
We managed to get some really great memories and captured them along the way. In the end, Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park seemed a lot beautiful and if you are a nature lover, this place is comparable to heaven.
